ABOUT the Founder

ABOUT the Team

Brandon Creadell “Chuck” Brown was born in Florence, South Carolina, moving to Charlotte, North Carolina when he was a young boy. Going through several Christian schools, Chuck, an only child, learned early how to love God, love his family and how to keep friends for many, many years.

As a young man, he had many dreams of making it big in the entertainment business, but settled down to marriage and fatherhood. However, through life’s trials, a failed marriage and two failed relationships, Chuck began to think about an idea that would take shape and change the course of his life. What exactly did it mean to be a single person in this modern world?

One night, lying in bed, he began to put together the idea of what it really meant to be Single, Saved and Serious. He thought about how much heartbreak he had been through, and wondered if there were others like him; others who wanted a better way to live as a Christian single person.

Almost at once, he began to hold meetings with local area singles in Charlotte, NC, asking hard-hitting questions about our Christian beliefs, our behavior and our innermost  thoughts. Some of these meetings would run for 3 hours. A year later, he put his words and questions to others in a videotaping, the Single, Saved and Serious Series. First the men and then the women, from all walks of life, gave their candid answers to tough questions facing singles today.

Today, Brandon Chuck Brown, as Founder and CEO of The SSS Movement, LLC, hopes to take his film, his words and the stories from others around the country. Speaking to the heart of Christian singles everywhere, he asks honestly, “Are you ready to be Single, Saved and Serious?”

In addition to these roles, Jennifer has been nominated for Woman of the Year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, served on the Board of Directors for N’ shape with N’ Youth, mentored a former girl scout to help her achieve the Gold Award and continues to be an active Mary Kay Consultant for more than 11 years.

Her sense of event management is only surpassed by her love of God, and she brings both to the forefront, as Director of Events for Single, Saved and Serious.

Jennifer has stepped down from the position of Director of Events, but continues to support the vision and mission of Single, Saved and Serious as she pursues her goal of motivational speaking! Follow her on FB and through her website: Fashion The Mind Fashion The Figure!

Judith Wilson Burkes, nonprofit founder, radio show host, and disability advocate is first and foremost a Christian. Born in New York City, she grew up in the church, performing, serving and cooking with the Mothers of the church. The grand-daughter of a pastor of seven churches in the Caribbean, she didn’t know of any other world but the church world.

Meeting Brandon in 2015, she quickly saw the value of Single, Saved and Serious and what it could do for single people  She saw it as a way to express her renewed desire to live a Godly life, and to help break down the worldly barriers placed between men and women.

Today, as President of The SSS Movement, LLC, she hopes to foster communication on and dedication to what it really means to be a Christian single in a media-driven, secular world.

April 2017 saw a new hostess and "Face" of Single, Saved and Serious!

Meca Shines, who first appeared in our Single documentary, is now on board the SSS Team. More info, her bio and what she hopes to contribute to SSS coming up soon!

OURMISSION

Single, Saved and Serious is a lifestyle, which consists of singles who carry themselves as responsible, approachable Christians with great attitudes.

We take our single life styles very seriously with integrity, dignity and direction.  We protect ourselves from being misled, manipulated and mistreated as singles living in this confused and media-driven world.

Single is how we live.

Saved is our belief in Jesus Christ along with continuing to develop an ongoing relationship with Him.

Serious is the way we carry ourselves; in life, at work, with our families and when we date. If any man/woman is interested in us, he/she would have to accept what comes with the territory.

We live with self-respect, act with accountability and move with class in society.  We are on a mission to dismantle what the media, social media, and radio does in setting bad examples and promoting negative images of singles and our lifestyles.

They say “If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.”  Well, being Single, Saved and Serious is how we stand on our beliefs.

Mission

Director of Events, Jennifer Cook, thanks you all on behalf of The SSS Movement, LLC, Team!

"We Had a Great Time with the Men!"

Another fantastic afternoon with the SSS family and community!

Thank you for coming out. The conversation as always was classy, Godly and timely! Our panel of men were candid and transparent with their walk. The women were supportive, yet honest in their challenges. One participant stated, "I know that each of us takes something with us from each event.."

More and more, we at The SSS Movement, LLC, strive to provide  a place for safe and supportive dialogue, faith-based fellowship, and a plain old good time. Great inspirational music was provided by DJ Tab D'Biassi. There was a soulful musical rendition of "How I love Jesus" from Charlotte Lipscomb, who has now honored us by agreeing to be the beautiful face of Gospel Karaoke at our future CLEs - Christian Lounge Experiences. Jennifer Cook continues her reign as hostess, keeping the perfect balance of graceful debate.

We're not done! We invite you to put July 13th, from 6-9pm on your calendar. The women take the panel seats!

It's also our first weekday evening event in Uptown!! Come ready to network and fellowship! Flyer coming soon!

An Afternoon to Remember!

The Sex, Status and Success with a Godly Perspective Panel Discussion was a HIT!

NuffCed, The Ultimate Host, opened up the event with some side-splitting humor, challenging the audience on living the RIGHT life!

Then, our five panelists, Charles Clark, Geoffrey Knox of Thunderstorm Radio, Stan Norfleet, Steve Williams and Charlotte's own, Civil Rights activist, John Barnett II took the stage to tackle the tough questions and subject of dating and being a professional man in today's world. Our resident hostess, Jennifer Cook of Fashion The Mind, Fashion The Figure put them through their paces on dating choices, ethical living and more. They held their own and sparked a lively debate that continued long after the discussion was over!

Up next was Greensboro's own Jus Will who performed a hot set of his top songs from the mixtape Coming and Going. He was definitely well received with nodding heads and tapping feet. The Christian Lounge Experience ended with DJ300 spinning inspirational songs, while BluNotes Brunch and Dinner menu continues to deliver.

But, the panel discussion was so lively and so strong, that by popular demand, we are going to have a PART TWO!

Put June 26th, from 1-5pm on your calendar! Check out our Facbook page for all the details.

And, we have a lot more announcements to make! Look out for updates on NEW locations, a special Brunch Buffet menu created just for Single, Saved and Serious and regular bi-monthly events!

Thanks for coming out to the 1st

Highlights From the Launch Party

WERE YOU IN THE ROOM??

Well, the only word we can use to describe last night is magical!

Something fantastic happens when people gather in one accord to support, have fun, maybe learn a thing or two, and just be themselves.

Founder, Brandon Chuck Brown, saw his dream realized at a standing room only crowd participated in the premiere of the Single, Saved and Serious Documentary viewing.

Fly Ty on Air, with his dynamic flair peppered the crowd with questions, comments and one-liners. Co-host, Jennifer Cook shined and added a special touch to the event. Special thanks to the cast members who came out and Ministers Willie and Anya Morrison, who traveled from New Bern, NC to be with us.

And, thanks to our media, Michaela Duckett of QCity Metro and Toni Baker-Tyson of Toni on the Town for gracing us and carrying the story!

Stay tuned for future viewing dates and locations, and get ready for the Single, Saved and Serious Pop up Christian Lounge events!

In the meantime, you can see highlights here, on the Facebook page and at QCityMetro!
